We should not have to perform in fear of being sued because someone chooses to attend our shows and FISHBONE should not be personally prosecuted for the millions of stage dives that has accrued for many years!!
WE APPRECIATE YOU AND ALL YOUR SUPPORT!! SIGN HERE TODAY TO HELP KEEP MUSIC FREEDOM ALIVE...
-------> Should Mosh Pits, Swing dance, Twerking, Stage Diving, Square Dance or any other form of creative performance expression be illegal and performance groups be held personally responsible for the environment their performance creates or from audience reaction to their music?
We believe that the CONSENT AND ACCEPTANCE OF ANY TYPE OF PERFORMANCE SHOULD BE AUTOMATIC UPON TICKET PURCHASE. Participation and responsibility should be left up to the individual attendee and Artist be held harmless for the music that moves them. "it’s about as irrational as the artist filing suit against the audience for being in their way when stage diving. The act of the dive and the audience being there are each shortsighted and irresponsible acts taken on by choice. The erosion of the sense of personal responsibility continues to escalate and even scarier, be embraced as “normal.” As Artist we would like the freedom to continue to offer the best part of our music, dance and performance arts yet we need to now draw the line if we are to continue and determine exactly how creative will we be allow to go without getting sued? PLEASE SIGN HERE if you as a Artist, Venue Owner, Promoter, Sponsor, Fan or friend agree that: CONSENT AND ACCEPTANCE OF ANY TYPE OF PERFORMANCE SHOULD BE AUTOMATIC UPON TICKET PURCHASE (Over 21) and that participation and responsibility should be left up to the individual attendee and artist, venues, sponsors, managers and other attendees should be held harmless for the show environment that individuals chose to attend.
We merely want to perform and not be sued because someone has a drink, gets into a mosh pit but does not know how to dance.
I think the whole judgement was based upon the judge\'s misunderstanding of a statement by Angelo from the prior stagediving lawsuit. He was quoted as saying that there were ambulances at there shows every few months.
I think the judge took this to mean that said ambulances are called as a result of his stagediving, which is not the case. People get hurt at punk shows, we all know that. You can\'t look at a pit and not expect to take a hit or two.
It just seems like a mistaken line reading, taken completely out of context, which alone should be enough to have the judgement overturned.
