Fishbone headlines UnityShows.org benefit concert in LA

On Feb 9th, 2006 Fishbone will headline the Unity Shows benefit concert at the Avalon Holywood in LA (check tour dates section for more details). Unity Shows is a Not-for-Profit organization that raises funds from local corporations and perhaps not so local corporations to put on great concerts and raise money for youth centers around the world, in memory of John Obray.

John Obray, killed in a car accident on April 30, 2004 in Fairmont, MN was a 23 year old trying to make a difference in southern Minnesota, by pushing an idea about opening a youth center. One the kids would love to hang out at and would give kids with nothing to do, something to fill the voids. The idea was really to keep kids on the right track, away from illegal and/or abusive activities. The plan is to open this center, and hopefully more like it around the nation.

Hollowstone Records present on their website a new song credited to Fishbone titled "Gotta Have It". There are no precisions at the moment as to who actually wrote the song, but it's definitely Angelo on vocals. Happy New Years to all the Fishbone soldiers out there. We will be posting more information regarding the releases within the next couple of weeks. Fishbone rang in the New Year across the country with a show in San Diego on the 30th and a New Years eve party in Baltimore.

The guys will be resuming in the studio this week working with Jimmy Sloan at The New King Sound studio in the Hollywood hills, and for most of Jan / Feb . There will be a few L.A. and surrounding area shows as well as a couple Colorado shows and short Nor Cal run in that time frame, but for the most part no major tours untill April. After that, they will be doing national and international tours with the new material.

Fishbone wants to thank everyone for their continued support through the last few years. This Fishbone lineup has been developing their own style and identity and the music being recorded right now reflects their unique sound personality within the Fishbone Familyhood.

If you were able to catch a Fishbone show in 2005 you saw the amazing chemistry between the band members. Especially on nights when the full 8 man lineup is onstage, they were mesmerizing new fans and energizing long time soldiers with a passion that had not been felt in years. The band feels this chemistry has been coming through on the studio recordings in a way that has never been captured before on Fishbone studio releases.

The band wants to thank everyone again for their support in helping this band over the many years and wants everyone to share in their excitement about the lineup and direction Fishbone is heading for 2006 and beyond.

Peace to all and their families,

FB

Fishbone release info and European tour info

The new fishbone dvd / cd w/ unreleased studio tracks should hit stores mid - late march.

The european release may not be untill July when the band plans to support the release with a month long festival tour that will hit just about every major market in europe, including Germany, Switzerland, France, England, Denmark, Hungary, Spain, and many more. Info will be posted as the tour confirms.

This will set the stage for another european club tour in oct / nov. 2006 in support of the new studio release, hitting all the same markets as the spring festival tour.

Depending on the release date, Australia and Japan are a possibility for August 2006, there will be info posted as we confirm.

We apologize for the past "information drought". We do not like to speculate in open public forums regarding Fishbone's game plan and so did not post any news untill we had the releases for 2006 fairly well mapped out. The side projects band members are doing is just a way to express themselves (get out of the studio for a little while) and put a couple of bucks in their pockets as fishbone stays out of the scene and focuses on their recording.

They will be recording in the bay area next week, and they have a couple of shows in santa cruz and san francisco. These shows may preview some of the music they are working on right now, so check em out.

Things will be happening fairly quickly after the new years, we will be updating as release dates and tours confirm.

thanks for the support,

FB

The dvd / cd will contain footage of fishbone from the last 5 months shot in high def. 5.1 as well as footage / audio from a few select shows of both european and american tours in the last year. All of the footage and audio is of the highest quality, those with home theater systems will be in for a treat as fishbone literally comes to your living room through the image and sound created with 5.1 technology.

The release will also contain band interviews with Norwood, Angelo, John Steward along with the rest of the current lineup: Rocky George, Dre Gipson, John McKnight, Tori Ruffin, Curtis Storey.

The will be answering some questions and discussing the current studio album being recorded right now.

The audio cd will also feature 4 - 6 unreleased studio tracks. This footage along with the audio tracks gives a great glimpse into the chemistry that this lineup shares and the positive energy created onstage together. It is something special and the band knows it, hear their personal takes on how this lineup is recording what they consider to be a musical statement that is undeniable.

Fishbone will be touring select markets with the release including Europe in the late spring / early summer.

There will be updates on the release of the full length studio album as it progresses.
