Fishbone on a bad night is better than 90% of the bands out there on a good night. They were once again very good tonight with just a few problems though. So here are a few gripes, but let me preface by saying this was by no means a bad show. In fact it was a good show, just not to the standard I'm used to.
1. I still have a problem with Fishbone opening, especially when ...
What an awesome show! Fishbone was red hot! I would give it a 10 except that the Hollyood Paladium gig in 1991 it the standard and that show is almost impossible to top.
The crowd at Rider's turned out to be pretty good after all too. I was a little concerned since there was almost no publicity about the show and Hilton Head has a very low "permanent" population, quite t...
I'll keep this one short. This was not one of Fishbone's better gigs that I have seen. I think the boys were a bit too drunk and sloppy. The crowd was pretty sparse and this club is odd. It is connected to the Tabernacle and there was something going on in there as well. So you could between songs hear noise coming from the Tabernacle stage. Fishbone is always fun, but as far as the bone goe...
This was an interesting gig. It was the 4th time I'd seen Fishbone and this show was FREE as part of the festival. Other than being free what made this gig stand out was it was the first time I'd seen Fishbone play in front of a primarily black audience. This was mostly an R&B festival. I remember there were a lot of older folks in lawn chairs at front of the stage and suddenly lots of younger...
Ryan did a great review and I'll just be quick and concur. The bone was red hot and my faith was renewed after the lackluster CU gig in 96. Now I'm not one to partake of mental enhancers too much, but on this particular night I ate a ton of shrooms, the only time in my life I've ever done that. Well, I was on cloud 9 fo sho. But this gig was awesome regardless! Almost to the standard of the P...
I was at this gig and I'll keep it short because the other reviewer did a pretty good job. In fact, other than my wife and me, he might have been the only other person who stuck around for Fishbone. It was sooooo sparse. I saw them in front of thousands in LA in 91 and couldn't believe this. Luckily the next time I saw them in Boulder, my faith was renewed. This was a pretty good show though ...
My fiancee and I went to this together just three days before our wedding. Nine years later we are still together and happily married and so is Fishbone, sort of. I saw Fishbone the first time at the Hollywood Paladium California in 91 and could not believe they were playing in my rinkydink hometown of Huntsville Alabama. Apparently this was the bone's first ever show in Alabama. Oddly enough,...
new guitarist? Bigham had been in the band for about 7 years at this point.
This show was absolutely incredible. Fishbone was red hot! I was 18, a freshman in college and I actually had not listened to Fishbone much before this show. I only owned the first EP on vinyl and figured if they played Party at Ground Zero that would be great. I was really into Primus and the way I always describe this show is... I went to the Paladium to see Primus and came out a Fishbone s...
Now I was not at this show, but according to this website, Fishbone played with the Chili Peppers at some point at the old Metroplex in Atlanta. Apparently pre-1990.
