Oct 18 2001 @ Top Cats Cincinnati, OH

Well Cincinnati was a blast. I shaved my face and went there and didn't feel safe at all. Hardly any white skinny people. I walked the block a few times cause it had someinteresting shops. Finally I was so bored I just walked into the bar even tho I knew it wasn't open. I watched the sound check a few minutes listening to Beergut before somme huge lady that owned the place came and kicked me out. Man she was pissed! and all I was doing was sitting there. Then as I was leaving I apologized and somehow that made her even madder. -There was a head shop down the street that had a whole bunch of dildos and sex toys and pipes and clothes. Alas I spent every penny I had on a ticket and 2 beers. I had to go thru a toll in Pensylvania with no money. I had to write a check for a 1.45 toll!

This was stifiling because after the show Angelo was sayin "how did you let me forget to put you on the list, don't let me forget next time!" But that all happened later. First I talked to Dirty Walt infront of the club. Man that guy was so fuckin cool. I'd never really talked to him before because I didn't know he was that friendly.

I couldn't help him with his smoke search so I started asking him about the new album. Unfortunatly a live album is all that we have the chancce oof getting anytime soon. He said the engineers in the studios completly fucked up the tracks in the digital domain. He gave me a strong iimpression that they weren't gonna/couldn't keep any of it. Bummer, eh? But that they are gonna try to get a live CD out of the new material.

The bottom bar opened for 21 and up so I skanked on down to find a toilet. I headed for a dark corner and as soon as I realized it was the kitchen I heard the owner yell "NOOO!!!!" I was so afraid she was gonna send me home. Luckily Angelo was right there to calm her down for me. She said "This guy's been givin me problems all night"' and she carded me again because I had shaved that day (therefore looking a ot younger.) She was super pissed this time and I would have had to leave if it werern't for Angelo.

Anyway the show was sick, I danced the whole time. Monkey Dick had even more changes than usual. Dirty walt's opening set was really cool too. He surprised me how much presence he had as a frontman. Angelo read "Pesimestic yes",and "Nate procrasto". Blowfly was pretty amusing. The main thing I will remember from this show is that the sound was just perfect. I don't know who ran the mix but whoever it was is a gunieus for not fucking anything up. Anytime I would notice anything get to loud it was fixed within 10 seconds.
