Review from the Nuttwork's archive

It was Fishbone. They kick ass. Good enough?:->

I didn't care for the opening bands much at all. The first was called Good Life, and they did this kind of poppy rock stuff, and the lead singer wiggled around a lot.

I didn't catch the name of the second one - they at least had real good energy, and did sort of an angry hard, metal, rappish kind of ...

I missed the opening band Good Life, but the second band Dial 7 I thought was awful. It was a great oportunity to head for the lobby and have a beer. Fishbone kicked ass, as usual, but the crowd seemed as if everyone had a long day at work and no one was really up for it. A few of the older songs seemed to get some people moving, but during Lemon Meringue/Unyielding Conditioning/Pray to the Junkiemaker, the energy in the crowd dropped to zero. I think maybe five people were into it at that point. At least from what I saw from up front. Things picked back up for the last few numbers and the encore of Swim had all the mosh-happy boys going nuts. Angelo came into the crowd for a brief moment during Sunless Saturday but that was it for him. Maybe it was the five foot gap between the stage and crowd barrier that he had to leap. Overall it was a great show and a great time, but I left feeling something was missing that I can't quite put my finger on. The songs (in no particular order):

Party at Groud Zero Question of Life I Wish I Had a Date When Problems Arise Beergut Monkey Dick Housework Behavior Control Technician Lemon Meringue Pray To the Junkiemaker Alcoholic Skankin To the Beat Pressure Sunless Saturday A Selection Give It Up Ma And Pa Bonin in the Boneyard Ugly Lyin Ass Bitch Unyielding Conditioning Swim

They played a lot of their early stuff. UGLY, Selection, etc... But for some reason, their didn't seem to be a lot of energy in the crowd. There were pockets of people skankin and stuff, but ove...
