yeah, pretty much what Tom said.

The setlist was very diverse, and they played several songs that I had not previously seen live. The setlist Tom posted looks accurate to me. The version of Parliament's "The Goose" they played to start the show was phat and heavy.

Angelo didn't crowd surf cause of his knee, but Dre and Jay were swimming all night long.

"Montreal - I Like That Shit"

Fishbone totally fuckin' killed it! Such a great show, and to a packed house - on Canada Day, no less - that was loving every minute of it. The band electrified the wildly enthusiastic throng until well past 1 a.m. at the somewhat cavernous Society for Arts and Technology (a relatively new Jazz Fest venue, I believe). Drenched in sweat after the inspired two-hour performance, the supercharged crowd seemed completely satiated.

Angelo was sporting a wig and tiki-style necklace, and the band was clearly enjoying the Montreal love. (Angelo: "Montreal - I like that shit.") Jay was especially animated, crowd surfing on several occasions (as was Dre) and hamming it up in addition to ripping it up on the 'bone. This guy is such a great addition to the band! Fishbone is just so solid these days - it's the strongest lineup in a long time, in my opinion.

This may go down as one of my favorite Fishbone shows ever, and I've seen them a bunch! Just such a revitalizing experience to see these guys kicking some serious ass as only they can do it.
