Fishbone in Paris: my 3rd date this tour and a lot of expectations from my side.
First getting to hangout with Johnfou once again was one my personal highlights. We had a bite, and several drinks and then we arrived to the venue which is about 30 minutes by train from central Paris.
After seeing Lionel once again, second highlight of the evening, Stephane is back as the...
Superb Show indeed, Mr Everlastbe ! It was great hearing all these songs from "In your Face". Walter Kibby back on the vocals and trumpet sure makes a whole difference from what we've heard these last 5 years! The band had a great amount of energy to give that night but the crowd was not trying to push things further...
This is the second time I go and see the band play in that venue and I confirm the place is not proper for the perfect launching of the Fishbone spaceship! The architecture of the place is strange and it makes the sound escapes on both left and right. Too much space on the alleys so people are spread everywhere, avoiding to form a mosh pit.
Everyone was standing meters away from each other as if the place was filled with lepers! Fine, if you want to listen to Leonard Cohen gig but come on, people! This is Fishbone, this is not Kenny G blowing you some kinda lame ballad for pussies !
Still, it was cool to see them there! :/)
My favorite highlight of the show was when everyone left stage at the end.
John Steward then suddenly stepped back to stagedive unto the crowd.
He then asked the crowd to carry him to the bar where the lady bartender was
already preparing him a good pint of Beer!
See y'all in August then to carry that big flying fish of Uncle Steward !
