Got to the venue at 6.00 and was greeted by Denis and Christoophe, and we went for a quick bite around the corner, nice way to start the evening.
As soon as we entered, we saw Lionel and Marie, and of course Wet Daddy appeared immediately... so I was able to chat as I missed him in London.
By the time PPZ30 hit the stage for a very nice show, I was able to meet plenty of regular fishbone soldiers (arne, timothée, Luthor, etc..).
From the first notes, you could see and feel that love was in the air, Fishbone gave a best of concert with their usual energy, Rocky was struggling for two songs but then it got perfect! Quite similar setlist as in London but Dre was in the house, so we had Rub A Dub Soldier and Behind closed doors. Cherish on the cake --) Question of life and Skankin' to the beat during the encores which is the place where it belongs!
Angelo, Dre and Jay kept coming into the crowd during the 105 minutes of the show and you could see from the smiles of everyone that it was a great concert.
6 of the band members were at the merchandising booth after the show and we managed to grab 4 of them (Jay, Dre, Rocky and Wet Daddy) for a nice time in the Delirium tavern in the city centre (Timothée - great idea!). A lot of fun, a lot of different beers tasted (gin shots for Wet Daddy), one girl fell in love with Rocky's afro and another one almost raped Dre :-), John forced the playing band to cover highway to hell which made the entire house dance and sing. Some of the guys with us could not believe we were hanging out with their idol: Rocky George. Then we had to bring them to the tour bus, which generated more fun and blackmail pictures. Another night to remember with some of the best members of the familyhood (sorry for forgetting you Marie and Angelo) but I really thought you were in one of the other 2 cars. I have nothing but love and respect for fishbone members (past and present), don't miss them whenever they come close to your place, there is definetely a chance you'll have the time of your life!
