This was, as per usual, a hell of a show. I did not stick around for English Beat so I have no comment on that... HOWEVER, FB rocked it as I've been lucky to have seen them do over a baker's dozen times. Some drawbacks: 1. I don't know how to change who was "on stage" on this page but Rocky George was not present at all - Norwood gave an explanation to start the show but I didn't catch exactly what he said and 2. FB was not headlining which, aside from being a crime against humanity - j/k, limits them to an hour or so rather than - AT LEAST - twice the set. Now highlights... No matter whether they open up, get cut off like at the beach (literally out on the sand) in ft. lauderdale in the late 90's, etc. FB always brings down the house and put 100 percent times 100. Favorite hightlight for me however was seeing Dirty Walt back, in full effect, and truly appearing to slide right back in and enjoy himself. Of couse that comes with Skankin' to the Beat, which I don't recall hearing since he left and is a fav. McKnight filled in the guitars for Rocky very well. Crowd was real friendly and got into a real good vibe as soon as some stagediving happened. Pretty well rounded set-list that I don't have memorized however I do have videos of the show and as soon as I can figure this out I will try and post them.
AWESOME SHOW! This was at least the 8th time I see them and it was up there with the best of them. Rocky George was not in the lineup because he caught pneumonia after the New Orleans show but is expected to be fine. John McKnight handled all guitar duties (as well as trombone, vocals, keys) and he was excellent, he more than held his own. Angelo was fantastic as usual. Dre Gipson really put on...
