Back from a very very good show a the Ubu yesterday night, in the town
that make possible the fishbone to play in europe for the first time
22 years ago for the Transmusicales Festival. Never easy to play
(small stage) & to watch a live show a the ubu (strange architecture)
but it's a Mythic Stage for rock in Brittany and France.

The Ubu was almost full. Not a lot of young fishbone soldier, more
25/35 or more.

For Emelie my wife and me it was our 12th fishbone show ... hum hum
... We take with us two special guest:
- one friend of mine virgin of any fishbone show (last time we go to a
show a the Ubu it was to see the US band Morphine in april 1994 for an
incredible 3 hour show)
- my first son, peacefully staying and growing in the belly of my wife
for 6 month... :-)))

Fanch was there, with the "Lik ah Lik" crew and his brother !!!

Me & my friend were just crazy all the entire show, pogoin' , dancin'
& skankin' in the pit with the other crazy people down there... ... My
friend made his first Swim on the crowd since a Noir Desir (well known
french rock band) show in 1992 !

As the Ubu stage is little , Angelo was not dancin' everywhere but
very focused on his "gameplay" during all the show. Norwood was
dancing (on a Wood way), speaking and smiling a lot. For the first
encore, Wood made an megalomaniac trip making us sang "Fishbone We
Love You We love you Fishbone" for about 5 minutes, with Angelo on
drums, Norwood & Rocky jamming.  Perhaps that's why he throw us many
flowers be saying Rennes was so special for fishbone...

They played two songs i'm sure never heard live before :  Chim Chim
Bad ass Revenge and  One Planet People ... They played Deep Inside and
it took me half of the song to recognise it !  Three Nice surprise !
I'm a real fan of the entire Album Chim Chim and like Fanch told never
understand why so many fishbone fan don't like this one... The played
"Behind Closed Door" and i still think this song is incredible !


I'm not a great fan of Keyboard in rock music, and for the first time
yesterday i really appreciate what Dre was doing on keyboard... hope
that in the next FIshbone Production Dre Work will be important!   I
can attest that Dre is an Heavy Weight boy, my left should & neck
still remember today that i tried yesterday to carry him almost
alone... ouch!!! :-))

Rocky was low in the mix for the first song, but after it was ok! a
pleasure to heard him!! Fanch told me that it's possible Rocky is
often low because he don't know very well the tunes!! Rocky was really
great, happy, smiling and i even saw his eyes open at one moment!!
:-))))

The two john were just perfect like usually.

A little chat with Norwood at the merchandising after the show : he
told me that like me future son, three original members of Fishbone
are born in september including himself.

Well, got our annual fishbone FIX!! Just waitin' for the next!!! OOOOohhh yeah!
