I got to the venue pretty early (18.15) as I had to meet Lionel who came especially from Paris. I found him when he came out from attending the soundcheck (lucky bastard)! Angelo was there just after and we had a good time talking about a lot of topics and how happy he was to be in Europe again. I spent some time with him and Wet Daddy during their dinner but they were already blinded by beautiful Marie and Renata, it was thus pretty hard to get their attention. Angelo remembered me why I love him so much when we introduced him to the husband of a fallen soldierette, his words really moved me and Renata words about Catherine where pretty good too I must admit.
Show time! First date of the tour and they kicked with Poem Skank, just amazing and went into Forever Moore (Catherine, I think I heard you singing during the song!)
First thing that impressed all of us were the excellent mood of Norwood and his dancing skills while playing, he didn't seem able to stop.
2h10 of a tight show with incredible versions of Deep Inside and Subliminal Fascism. One planet People was really cool to listen and dance to. The encores blew me away from the first to the last note. Thank god, as I bought a tshirt I won't go to hell!
I spent an amazing evening, met a lot of friends, and have a lot of new wonderful memories! Fishbone was, is and always will be red hot!
What can I say... Everything you would expect from a Fishbone show and much more!!! A more than decent crowd showed up at the Botanique. After a short introduction by THE inspector CLUZO, Fishbone set the stage with a very jazzy intro... Great way to open the set. Before the show, I talked shortly to Denis about what to expect.. any new songs on the set list...? Perhaps Chim Chim's... and I expres...
Phenomenal! The last time I saw Fishbone live was in 1991 in Los Angeles, tonight they rocked the audience harder, louder, better, and longer than that night.
I think they have even more energy now than they did 18 years ago.
Crazy man, Crazy!
Nice gig. Loved the jazz intro it was really great. It was a pleasure to meet Oscar again. Cool guy. Also met Christophe, late Catherine's husband. Spent a great time with him and my friend Renata. After we went to take a drink with Angelo et John (the drummer). The boss of the bar where we went was really cool... he played some Fishbone songs for us and Angelo showed us his add for Warped...
The highlight of this show was how the band managed to funnel all that positive energy to leave everyone in the place totally stunned with a wide smile on their face. I had pitched to show to a few friends curious about the reason of my addiction, and they are now the addicts ! The sound was perfect, Rocky was up there in the mix, for once, Other really cool moment was driv...
