small festival (about 1000 in attendance) but as good as free (0.99 eurocent entrance).
Hit the stage at about 2300, played 'till 0100.
only my second show, but i love this band, great to hear 'old songs" like bonin' and ma and pa.
No trumpetplayer, but the band was playing very tight (as usual i guess). And during the encore (nice touch to give everybody an solo spotligh...

Chouette concert.
Amazing concert once again!
Park Rock Festival - Belgium - nice venue with a good selection of bands - different styles but they all had something to make them stand up. Thanks to this fabulous website, I (Oscar) was able to get there with fans and get even a ride home from Catherine (éternellement reconnaissant maintenant!). Nijumu(Lionel) came from Paris to get once again his medicine and I met regulars from Turcoing - FR (seen in Brussels last year and in Verviers this year). All of us, Catherine, Lionel, Marie, Renata, Timot and friends had a great time at the festival. Despite the long waiting to enter the place because of the search at the entrance we were happy as the guys from Fishbone were out looking for food so we were able to meet, chat and take pictures with Wet Daddy, Norwood, John, Angelo and Rocky.
Now for the show: the guys got on stage at 11pm for a small soundcheck and started at 11.15pm a very powerful set. The audience was into it despite very young kids acting like crazy and without caring for others - probably their first concert - but they all left with the last bus (00.00am) and then it got better. My personal highlights: Everyday Sunshine (I was not even expecting this as they didn't play it during my last two concerts), Rub A Dub Soldier, Sunless Saturday and the excellent Servitude but everything else was above standard. They finished at 01.00am wishing John a happy birthday (he is actually 40 - Angelo said 43 because he is 42) and at 01.00 and 08 seconds Angelo was out dragging the gorgeous Marie and Renata backstage, we then joined them and continued the party until almost 05.00 - I took great pictures and lived amazing moments (talking with John about a lot of topics including his recent trip to Middle East to play for the troops - Angelo talking about the music industry and the future of the US, Dre acting as a priest to get Angelo and Marie married and the exchange of rings and vows, preventing Wet Daddy(Dexter) to rape Renata, dragging Renata out at 5am when she probably wanted to be raped ;-), etc...). The organizers told me afterwards that they had to put them in the tour bus heading for Paris at 08.00 because they didn't want to leave and that they finished all the alcohol...
Fishbone is an amazing band, the guys are plain cool, friendly, clever and rock'and roll of course. Fishbone is more red hot than ever - don't miss them whenever they play close (or not so close) to your place.

Going to this festival early and leaving the party late was an attempt at getting over the addictive compulsive urge I have to listen to Fishbone all the time - alone. Fishbone makes me drift in my deep inner sea. Somehow this music connects to personal thoughts-feelings-moods. It's too strange to share. ...
