Fishbone's musical talent blows all the other bands away. They started off with a freeform jazz song just to let everybody know that they are stunningly gifted and original. It also proved that the new line up is tight. Angelo as Dr. Madd Vibe performed some of his spoken word poetry (Black Arts Movement style) which got the audience hyped. His poem about Bitches got a lot of response. The poem is funny and tragic and he makes the distinction between ladies, women, and bitches. Having talked to him about his references to women in his poems years ago I was happy to hear him make this distinction. The new music on the latest cd was great to hear live. I recommend that everyone who claims to be a true Fishbone fan buy the new cd, watch the Henhouse Sessions, and go see them live. It's a shame that their tickets are so inexpensive and the places aren't packed. On the other hand it is such a great experience to be right in front of the stage to bounce along with them. Angelo and Norwood are two of the baddest, hard working musicians alive. This show, like all the others I've seen over the past 20 years, was inspirational. Thanks guys.
