It had been five years since I saw Fishbone back in 2002 and tonight I saw a very different band from back then (five years you say? Gimme me a break I live in Australia and just moved here). Gone was Spacey T and Dirty Walt and in was some new blood with the likes of Rocky George, Dre Gipson and Curtis Storey. And to put it simply this new line-up rocked the house like a mother f@#ker!
I was there. My fourth time seeing the gospel spread by Fishbone, and in a way it was awesome that the show was at Studio Seven, as they still allow stage diving. I was there, in a bright yellow shirt, surfing my heart out, as if it would be my last. Fishbone still has the best shows BY...FAR!! Otherwise, Mr. 850 pretty much said it all. Except that the night started out with a bunch of drunk kids up front, that were certainly entertaining, but I was afraid they could potentially spoil the show (as they were actually starting to interfere with the band on certain levels).
Rockin' riffage.
