Review by Duasoul on May 02 2007

Hi all, this was my first time seeing Curtis in the lineup, and it was amazing to me how even more tight they are now. I wasn't able to grab a setlist like I usually do, thanks to the House of Blues security telling me to fuck off when I asked for one.

The show went off without any difficulties, and I loved the new songs of "Still Stuck" that I haven't yeat heard live. Here are some random thoughts I've had since the show:

Angelo seems like he's had some procedure to make him 20 years younger in the last two years since I've seen them. Last time, Angelo was having trouble hitting notes and had recently come off of knee surgery. On sunday night, he hit every note perfectly running and jumping around like only Angelo can. He even did a bunch of cartwheels.

Norwood was in top form the whole night. Nuff said. I talked to him for about an hour after the show (gained some infor about Mitch G. for the Nuttwork brethren and sistren).

John "Wet Daddy" Steward was pounding the drums with a ferocity that could not likely be matched. He's also endorsed by Spaun Drums now, and his green kit not only looks great but has great tone as well.

Rocky was great and didn't miss a lick. I could actually hear him perfectly too this time! I don't know if it's their sound guy at the moment, but all of Rocky's solos could be heard very loudly and clearly on Sunday.

I cannot be more clear when I say that Angelo and Dre's chemistry together on stage is something that make's a Fishbone soldier feel just a little more whole inside. At some points it's almost like watching Angelo and Chris trade off vocals again.

The trumpet playing of Curtis is top knotch. Great backup vocals, and a really nice guy as well.

John McKnight, what can this man not do? Great guitar work, amazing trombone playing, and awesome backup vocals.

The things that stand out the most to me were the vocals from the groups as a whole, and John and Rocky's guitar work together. Angelo is backed up by 3 guys who could be singers in their own right.
