I was sick with the flu at this show. Eventhough I felt like passing out on the floor through most of the show, I still had a blast. I also brought 2 friends of mine who just didn't like Fishbone (on their albums), but both of them were blown away at this show.

This was a last minute booking of Fishbone at the Canes Bar in San Diego, so I'm guessing Torrel and Dre Holmes had priar commentments. However, John McKnight was there fillin' in just fine. Also, the merchandise they had for sale was slim pickin's. A few ladies shirts/tanks, and a Dr. Madd Vibe CD. . . that was it! Jeff, the merchandise guy that I've met at the last few shows was not there. Jeff, where were you?!?

Fishbone took the stage about 11:30pm, with 2 opening bands. The first one, who I've already forgotten their name, was nothing special. The second band, was much better. K22 Orchestra has some great musicians in it. The singer was good, however only had one style of singing/rapping. He got old quick, but the band was really good.

Dr. Madd Vibe did a quick thing at the beginning of Fishbone's show. From the first note of the show, to the very last note, this show was pretty tight. . . eventhough Norwood and Rockey were pretty trashed.

Some guy from Slightly Stoopid was there, and got up on stage and did a little rap with them.

Fishbone was closing with their last song, "Servitude", when Rockey threw his guitar down on his PA monitor. The head-stock of the guitar cut open one of my friends eye-lids! He's okay, and thinks it's a pretty cool war wound. Fishbone had time for only 1 ancore, one of their new tunes. . . kinda old school R&B feel. Rockey was so wasted at this point, he had a hard time playing in time. Norwood looked like he was sleeping while playing, but didn't miss a beat. When Norwood finally awoke, the band was leaving the stage, and Norwood got up on the mic and said he wanted to play "Everyday Sunshine", but the rest of the band was already off the stage and in the back green room.

I honestly can't say that I've even been to a bad Fishbone show. It dosn't seem to matter who is playing, and who isn't there. . . or even how trashed some of the band memebers are. . . Fishbone shows rock!!!

Keep the Sunshine comin' guys!!!!!!!!

It's been a while since I've had the opportunity to see the Bone as the headline act. It was fantastic to again have the opportunity to see them play a show that lasted a crazy couple of hours. Everyone put their all into this show as they always do. The crowd was pure energy, as is every Fishbone show I've ever seen. The only flaw: on a surfing beach in California, security at the venue wasn'...
