This was probably one of the best Fishbone shows I've seen yet, and I've seen them about 7 times now. first of all me and my friends didn't know whether or not we were getting into the show, because the show had sold out. but when the doors opened at 8:30pm they started letting people pay at the door. Thank Jesus! I was getting into this show no matter what, i never miss a Fishbone show. This show was a blast. i could tell most were there for slightly stoopid, but when Fishbone played evrybody got into the music. it started with Angelo speaking some hilarious poetry while the rest of the boys crept on stage and picked up their instruments. they kicked it off with ugly and the crowd was dancing like they feet were on fiyah. throughout the whole show the band were full of energy and had smiles on their faces the whole time. here's a little secret that most musicians don't know about: playing music is about having fun. dre gipson did a hip-hop/reggae song where the lead singer of Slightly stoopid came onstage to help with vocals. and this was actually the first time i got to see them play sunless saturday. that was the best hour i've spent in a damn long time. oh, and of course the crowd went fucking nut when they played date rape. the best hour i've spent in a long damn time. after the shoe i talked to John and Norwood, showing them my new Fishbone tattoo i recently got. i gave Norwood my band's cd, which i hope he didn't leave somewhere, cause i'd probably fuck up and do the same thing. i didnt get to talk tot the rest of the guys but there's always next time. after that i left beasue i saw slightly stoopid open for the fish in '99 and realy didnt dig them but hopefully they played well becasue fishbone will give you a run for somebody's money. they had some merch there too which was a fuckin blessing. t-shirts, hats, videos(angelo's skopen word) and cds. i left that show on cloud nine.
