Fishbone on a bad night is better than 90% of the bands out there on a good night. They were once again very good tonight with just a few problems though. So here are a few gripes, but let me preface by saying this was by no means a bad show. In fact it was a good show, just not to the standard I'm used to.
1. I still have a problem with Fishbone opening, especially when paying $18. The crowd was pretty enthusiastic, but the shorter show and seeing that "Slightly Stoopid" banner over their head takes away from the experience for me. Nothing against SS, they do put on a good show.
2. Norwood was a bit too ripped last night. He was messing up quite a bit. After the first song, he proudly announced to the crowd "I think I'm more fucked up than I've ever been." He had to stop at one point to go take a piss, as did Rocky. There were many times where he missed his vocal parts and the the rest of the band would look around at each other to see if someone would pick it up. His bass playing was generally good, but I noticed Steward looking at him a couple times to try to lock back in with him. After the show, Norwood actually apologized to the crowd for screwing up so much and then sang a little song about his scrotum. Norwood is awesome, but he probably should have eased up some on the sauce last night.
3. Once again, Dre Gipson's keyboards were almost inaudible. Sound man, turn him up!
So once again, a good show, but not a great one by Fishbone standards.

Hi it's Marie again,
This gig was better than the night before. The band was tighter, the sound was better and Angelo was "en forme".
I really liked the gig. They didn't sing the songs i like but still I had a good time.
Thanks to you Fishbone.
Marie
