Reviews
They still manage to make us, the audience, envious of being on the ground. The party was on stage and we all wanted to be up there with them. Like always, they delivered their music with overflowing soul. Played classic stuff like Party at Ground Zero, Ma and Pa, Unyielding Conditioning, and Sunless Sat. Awesome show, love them.
It's been about six years since I've seen Fishbone. Before that I saw them alot, even partied with them through mutual friends, and Angelo 'n Norwood have always been kool on the face regonition tip. Then I mention that I knew the guys in "DD Nose" from back in da day, and it's like no time lost. And, so it was when I saw them play at Northride-"The Celebration of Recreation" gig. My friend Brian Decker told me about the show, and we went (me with camera in hand, thankfully). Dre told me about this website when I talked to him at the Santa Monica gig, and he inspired me to write this review and submit the pix. Now, the last time I saw them back in '98 at The Dragonfly in L.A, which was a relatively small crowd (fuckin' killer show, by the way), I hadn't seen them in such a small venue with a smaller crowd (a couple of hundred). At the Northridge show it saddened me a bit to see such a small group of fans, but the intamacy with the band was so worth the lack of energy from the audience (unlike the Santa Monica Pier show a month later). Anyway, they jammed as usual, and it felt like a comeback/primer gig for the summer and beyond. My fan-ember was totally rekindled. And Norwood was like an old friend reminising after the show. Many props to Fishbone. Enjoy the pix, more to come from this gig later.
