how nice it is to have a club bout 20 min from where i lie my little cranium just like the galaxy im home in a snap or two or whatever. anyway the show
i get off the wonderful train (ugh, late) and the downtown is right there, just a block down or so. i walk up to the place hoping that i can get a good spot in tha line. but as i walk up...well, no line. no line? weird. damn they musta been lettin the folks in already! rar! so i walk in and no body is round. hmm. so i stroll ups to tha bar . the bone is doin their soundcheck and norwood is doin a little rant about the prez in thief. it was funny wish i could remembas it. if i remember correctly they go partly thru ugly and behaviour control a couple of times, and since im one of a few peeps there id like to say theyre playing just for mee but ill just live with the fantasy. a guy from the staff comes up to me and im thinking great...hes gonna toss me and i jus wanna watch this soundcheck so ill ask him for his mercy. he strolls up and asks me for i.d., then puts a bracelet on mee. i gets myself some ammeretto. yum. some of the other bands do their checks and then peeps start getting let in. i go over and get some merch. woo. now im fully equiped, tho i do wish i had me a hoddie (as do a buch of us i guess. cough.) i go back to the bar, looking for some fellow nuttwork types, tho i dont really know what anyone looks like. (me, i was in a grey sweatshirt with poorly grown sidechops and most likely a lost look on my face. it happens. the first band come on and all i have to say is they rocked, but man were they mr bungle. the singer was very tom green possessed by patton, but they were really good. the next band was pretty good too. sorry, bad with names. and then....the bone. woo.
**there was also a little j.s. solo, and a spacy solo when angelo said he had to tinkle. i think he said tinkle lol **mr norwood also started to do his thing on bush before they played riot, but he didnt say as much as during the check. **at one point angelo started goin how bout them yankees? dodgers? celtics? ahh im a musician i dont care bout that lol **norwood also looked alittle angry, but maybe its just me. it seemed there was sound probs and angelo kept adressing them after every song. maybe thats what made norwood a little grr-y. itd do it to me. **b4 pressure (i think) angelo jumped into the audience to get the crowd goin and singin. at one point he says (i paraphrase) "were tryin to get a record deal tonite so..." and he started doin some ohh yeahs. i think this kinda pumped people up too **there was no encore that i know of! bah. i left when they started movin the equip around and said kings x was comin. i tried to start a fishbone is red hott chant with some guys that were skanin it up durin the show but it didnt pop and nobody got into it. sigh. ** there was not a crowdsurfer to be had it seems, and wow it felt good to be able to skank without being crashed down upon by someone and the pipes he was holding onto to try and not crash down lol
i love seeing walt's big smilin grin.i hope it always stays there the crowd at first didnt seem too into it but seemed to really dig it. twas a good time and i left into the cold before kings x came on (sorry ma jus had to do it) im sweaty and cold and i gots serious ric flair golden retriever hair.
