Review from the Nuttwork's archive

And it was in the same venue as 10yrs ago! It's midnight and a bit an I've just got back from the B'Ham gig. This time it was a round trip of just 51miles instead of yesterdays, well Sunday now, 180miles to Nottingham.

Support was Peat Bog Man (I think) or walked on stage looking very self conscious and young - and this was proved by their last song which was about their physic's teacher. The line up was guitar/vocals, bass drums, trumpet & trombone, they were OK. Then it was adequate 7 or were also at Nottingham. I had a chat with the singer and bought their CD which is on now.

The set list (which I texted to Simon in case I didn't get a copy, but I did ) was (and this is how it was wrote!) - XQZ Me Nuttmeg Sunless Riot Skankin Lyin Ass Go Nuttz Aids Wit it Bonin Monkey Dick Karma Ma & Pa Pants Party ------ Last Daze Behaviour Deep Inside --------- Demon Red Hot

Unfortunately they went from Last Daze to Red Hot as their encores - and I was looking forward to BHT! I spoke to Angelo beforehand (and got him a double Jack and Coke) and I also spoke to Sarah and said hi to Norwood and Ase.

Even though 5 of these songs were done at Nottingham they were different which was nice. The gig was smaller than Notts but the stage was bigger - this time I was in front of Walt with Norwood on my right, and Angelo then Spacey on the left, on Sunday I was between Angelo and Spacey so got to marvel more this time at Norwood.

I also took a disposable camera so it will be interesting to see how they turned out - I'll try and get them on my web site at the weekend.

The band seemed more subdued this time although Walt seemed happier as I though he was subdued before. It was more a listening audience than a dancing one although me and the lad next to me were getting down for the rest of the audience! Ase also had a boogie (which I took a photo of) and also went for a walk in front of the stage behind the security barrier which kept us all away from the band.

I was a bit concerned that seeing them on two consecutive days would not be a good idea with the possibility of very similar sets both nights but that was not the case - it's been ten years but what a comeback! Loved it - and I can't wait now to the Cannabis Cup on the 27th.

Well I'm shattered, ears and ringing and I'm tired and I want to go to bed! So ...

That's All Folks

Colin
