Dear diary (or whoever else interested in reading my lame english speech),
Yes, I?m one of the usually silent list members and just witnessed one of the very best gigs I attended for years. Didn?t know the place, l?Amalgame of Yverdon, before but was pretty glad to notice "quiet Switzerland" ?s youth was ready to party on a Monday nite as the venue seemed pretty crowded.
...The Yverdon show was really great. Amalgame is a cool little club set in an old warehouse. I don't know how much people there was, but I think about 300. The opener "Nect'art' was really painfull, some kind of Toto mixed with a late Blondie... Too 80's sound. Then Angelo began with Fishbone soldier poem, they continued with Nuttmeg world, and the show really began when Angelo jumped in the Public at the beginning of a great version of "Sunless Saturday". I haven't the complete setlist for Yverdon but it was pretty the same as Zurich except they played "Freddie", "Question", and "Monkey Dick". The audience was really receptive and dancing crazy, some tried to stagedive but with no real success. There were a lot of old fans with T-shirts from Reality and GAMAB era. Fishbone gave a real good show, but the sound was not really good, I didn't recognised Karma Tsunami at first because the horns were too low on the mix. Dirty Walt had his Black dildo mic, and seemed really happy to be there always dancing and smiling. I was really impressed by Norwood play, so percussive. Angelo jumped everywere, while Spacey distilled some good solos. John was as usual very tight and hammered his set during the whole show. I met P.L. after the show and talked a bit, before going with Norwood in the backstage. We were talking and trying to roll, when an idiot came sitting on the sofa next to Norwood. He didn't know who Norwood was but began to talk with us. He wanted to roll too and Norwood told him that he never takes tobacco. The guy began to talk to Wood that he should tried, that it was better with tobacco... And that during maybe ten minutes. Then Norwood would end the conversation, and told him that he never take tobacco and beef, and that would never change. But the guy insisted, he began "What you don't eat beef, beef is the better meet,... what about a good red double cheeseburger..." he didn't stop for half an hour. I was so bored by this stupid guy that I wasn't really listening to him, when suddendly Norwood began to push him and box him on the floor. I don't know what exactly this motherfucker has said but it has really worried Norwood that was so cool relaxing on his Sofa. I left just after the boxing episode because Security guys were nervous, and it was more than half an hour that they wanted me to go because I had no backstage pass... Funny thing is that when we watched the pictures of my friend, he took a picture of me and Norwood on the sofa and there is this dumbass sitting next to us. A little "souvenir".
