My first and best Fishbone show I've ever seen!

This was my review before I saw the current line up in Brussels! Now this is the best Fishbone show I've ever seen except one. But still tha 'Bone totally blew me away in Tivoli, and I was so sad I had to leave early to catch a train. I don't think I ever hated it this much to leave a concert before it was finished. Great show,...

Yep, my ears have the beep as well. Holy shit what a show, raw energy and very very tight set. Indeed it took some ma & pa before the audience really grew into it, but after that it got wild. If this is the shows we're going to get 4 more times here in Holland, I've got to start doing something about my condition, man I'm exhausted!!!!

slip (jens) PS: Next time, Patronaat, m...

I was in Tivoli too! After taking the looong way around to find it...(and losing my way on the way back...yeah)

Tivoli is indeed a very nice venue (much better than the f*cking Boerderij where I had the displeasure to try and watch two concerts last time...boeren) it's like a little smaller Nighttown in Rotterdam or something. Alright, the opening band, the "Chop Shop" was really good, actually. (they were really the band 'Beef'...not that any of you give a damn, it was a good warm up, people were relaxed and really in the mood for the Bone. During the stage build up, I was ordering a beer at one of the bar and I spotted Angelo on the other side, trying to order some pre show drinks, I guess...I smiled at him and I think he smiled back.(too bad I didn't get a chance to talk to him) Fifteen minutes later or so he was already on stage, in his cool suit and the bowler hat, fiddling around with the Theramin. He even struck a cool 'hand' pose for a photographer! Sorry to correct Arne on this, but they definetely did NOT start with 'Squewze Me...' it was Definitely 'Jah Jah on the Telephone' Cool build up to an almost Ear-Splitting volume....and then Walt came on stage and they went into Nuttmeg World. Up untill then the crowd around me was a bit lame, but then they played Sunless Saturday and I just couldn't hold back anymore (despite of my sour back...ouch!) And went wild....after that: BEERGUTT!!!! And that did it....place went wild. Well after that I can't remember the sequence just that they played Mom and Pa......BONIN"!!!(whooooohaaa!!!) and Cholly..(fat chicks!!) and Question of Life (place went really nutz at that.) The new stuff: Skank and Go nuttz, Are you Wid it really went down well. Then Angelo yelled: RIOT!!! into the mic, and dove into the crowd directly after that, leaving Walt and Norwood to sing the song. Now, I think he was lucky to be caught that time....because it wasn't as packed in the front as it should be, and well. people just didn't expect it, I think...but maybe I'm wrong.. don't mean to diss the true Soldiers up there.! Karma Tsunami, Alcoholic, Skankin' to the beat, and then Party...end of show. Well, not really, offcause, we wouldn't let them go. First encore was Last Dayz, after that Spacey T took his solo-spot and did a good solo that turned via Red House into Aids and Armageddon.. (super song that). Second Encore was Demon and sadly, that's when I had to leave, or I would've missed my train home...and I almost did. So I missed Fishbone is Red Hot! DAMN!! I think I'll catch them again at Nighttown Rotterdam on 25/11...Fishbone has touched down in Europe and Yes, they're still large here. I think they'll sell some cd's after this tour...just keep coming back, earn some money, release a super cd, earn a little more, tour a little more and they'll be alright.
