Review from the Nuttwork's archive

Last night's show at the Cat's Cradle was great! The Veldt opened up and I hadn't heard them before but they were pretty good. Then Blowfly - if you've seen him, no description is necessary, if you haven't, no words would suffice. The raunchiest raps over cool grooves from the 'Bone minus Angelo. Very funny and funky stuff. Next Dr. Madd Vibe treated us to 'Secret Agent Dad', 'Bitches' and at least one more I can't recall the name of right now (I'm working off of 3 hours sleep so forgive me).

Here are the songs I can remember in no particualr order.

Dirty Walt: Rolling in a Many Blunt Ways Swisher Sweet I Need a Swig I'm Gonna Let My Funk Shine Nuttmeg World

Fishbone: Party at Ground Zero Housework Bonin' in the Boneyard Skank N Go Nuts Heat of Anger Cholly Ugly Last Dayz Primadawnutt Demon in Here Are You Wid It Loose Our Minds AIDS and Armageddon Shakey Ground Servitude no encore

I love how Spacey goes off on Housework - just amazing! I got to see Keisha again and meet Jim, Tim and Kent for the first time. I look forward to seeing you all again. I also brought along my fiancée Connie and Eric and they got to meet the band and fellow soldiers. It was a great night. I hung at the back for Fishbone's set and the sound was very good and a nice crowd for a Wednesday night although they did start to thin out as we got closer to 2:00am.

I agree this show was off the hook! I hate I missed Servitude- I had to leave early into Shakey Ground 'cause my friend was ready to leave. He's not much into funky stuff, although his taste is pretty good IMO- Radiohead, King Crimson, Tool, J. Buckley, etc. Guess he's kind of a cracker. :D He did say that he clearly saw that they were great musicians but it wasn't his thing.
