Review from the Nuttwork's archive

for the sake of your own sanity, all informations about the happennings of last WE in LA has been classified confidential, besides for the concerts.

all i can say is that the familyhood is not a concept. it's a reality. as i remember repeating over and over during the bbq: it was so right.

hopefully, when the DVD is out, you'll witness how everything r...

Hey all! I have never posted a review of a show before, but since I see the reviews are scarce, I will try to throw in my experience of the weekend. I got in Friday night, after a 5 hour flight, straight from work, so I was already exhausted when I got there. Everyone from the list was hanging out at the Travelodge rooms (that was the central meeting place). Everyone I met was immediately frie...

Man oh man....what a weekend. Like Sarah said, gives us some time to recover a bit and gather our thoughts because a LOT of stuff went on that weekend, from a lot of different perspectives. First and foremost what everybody wants to know: The new material. A lot of us have heard four or more of the new songs on the last tour, but they worked them a little differently for the Temple Bar shows (...

Hey everyone! Just wanna say that the show on Friday nite wuz the BOMB!! The new songz are incredible, each song had my full attention through out the show. They're brilliant! Last Dayz is the shit, heavy groove with da' reggae twist. Skank and go Nuttz, Are u wid it, etc. HOT Damn, This is Fishbone! PFN is a good album, but this is the shit Hollywood wrekordz should have let them do. The show and...

Hey all!! We just got in a couple of hours ago...but man, we miss being in Santa Monica. All the way home all we could talk about was missing our new family. The drive home was just a dazing swirl of laughter and storytelling. For all of you that didn't get to go, I will do my best to recount, to the best of my recollection, any and all happenings.

First, the familyhood. ...

Wow. What a weekend. WOWOWOW! Its difficult to put into words, but I'll try.

First off, thursday: I went with three friends, two of them virgins, all of us from LA. We got there really early for fear of a sell out, which gave us much drinking time; I had guinness, the others had tequila (more on this later). I met Sarah and several other list members, all of them beautif...

I have to admit to a little apprehension when I heard that the show was going to be all new (more or less) music. It's not that I don't dig hearing new songs at shows, it's just that I love the old stuff so much. Plus, hearing the four new songs on this previous tour when they were in Seattle, they weren't completely fishbone tight yet. But I was sold quickly, once the boys started into their s...

Hey all, I think I've recovered enough from my flight back to NYC to make a coherent post. First off, to echo the sentiments of most everyone else, the reunion and the shows were flat out amazing. The chance to meet some of you folks truly was an honor. At one point, Lauren Batiste asked me, "So what was your high point?" To which I replied, "High point? You mean I gotta pick just one?! Hel...

I just got in (Monday, about 10:30pm) and had about 130 notes to read... mostly, everyone summed up the weekend just as I would have. The whole event just exceeded my expectations at every turn. the music, the location, the people the BBQ (Go Derrick!)... We had seals swimming in the ocean in front of the BBQ! Just amazing.

I still wish I had taken a picture when I opened the hotel room door Friday afternoon... a room full of zombies. I think everyone had been there for the Thursday show at that point and it showed. We scored a couple cases of beer, got wound back up and good to go!

Poor Nico... His Suisse feet toast after a day in the sun... ouch!

Yeah, I'll second Nerre... Jeff has the coolest hair in on the planet... wait for the pics!

Jenna along with two others drove two days from Texas... TWO DAYS!

Kiesha, the resident chauffeur... "Kiesha Loves Fishbne!" Say it over and over... cause she sure does! ;-)

Anyone able to pick any of us out from the web cast ("Who gives a rat's ass!")? I spent Friday's gig pinned behind Nicole (Hey Nicole, what should we name the kids? Kidding of course! ;-), Jenna, her fianc? (congrats, but get your hand off my nutts, dude!) and occaissionally Keisha... right in front of Norwood. The stage was about 2 feet off the ground with no barrier and we all crashed HARD onto it on numerous occaisions... a couple dildos in the pit. I think Nicole (with her massive physique) actually broke part of it...

The sound coming directly off the stage was amazing. Wood playing that hollow body ovation 5 string... just roared and punched (he later told me it was the best sound he'd EVER gotten outta that thing)... the horns blowing staight at us. Spacey splitting his sound into about 3 or 4 signals, all tastefully processed. Angelo sticking the mic in our faces.... And Walt is just the coolest, especially from point blank like that. It was great talking with him at the BBQ. And whoever caught Wet Daddy on a bad night on the bus, you have NO FUCKING IDEA what a wrong impression you got of the man. He is an exceptional human being.

Norwood, how about that BIG damn dog with the BIG damn head (some kinda BIG pit bull looking thing) right at nutt level... we discussed briefly how easilly that thing could be the proud owner of our manly-hood, laughed awkwardly, got queasy and changed the subject. It was funny.

Meeting everyone from around the globe was just really fulfilling for me. What a wonderful, fantastic group of humans. I remember signing up for the list and reading the "what it is and what it isn't" disclaimer... it is right on the money. A bunch of vastly unique, different people with a passion for creativity, toleration, learing, music and just having a great fucking time.

As those there are aware, I had to leave the BBQ early (the HOB gig was FUCKING CANCELLED!). As I drove off and beeped at you guys, I felt like I was leaving very close friends and it brought tears to my eyes. I almost drove back up from Annaheim.

This my friends, is what the interent can do. We are acting on the lastest technology in a way that allows us to experience events and emotions that other people and times simply do/did not have available.

much love, STeve S.
