Damn what a show...
to all my brothers and sisters who were present, I hope ya'll got home safe. I'm glad I got to meet some of you, too bad I couldn't find Leland. It was like a huge reunion of people I've met all over this city. The vibe was positive, the players so on top of there game... oh so sweet. Even seeing spit flying throught the air was magical, and when...
Damn is right!!! Last night was the 6th time I've seen the bone since '96 and that was probably the best show. There was a huge crowd and everyone seemed to be really into it, skankin' and singing the songs all night long. Here's the set list that we grabbed after the show:
Unyielding Suffering Everyday Karma If I... Subliminal Bonin' Shakey Ground Wish I Had A ...
I think I'm still in a bit of shock. Last night I experienced something that I couldn't have even imagined. It was my first bone encounter, and hopefully one of many more to come. Michale and Adam have seemed to have given a pretty detailed account of the show. I was impressed to say the least. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you Adam, I kept looking for somebody handing out flyers. Luck...
With hardrocking jams, heavy funk and George Clinton?style presentation, Fishbone proved once again that they've still got it.
Although they've been around nearly 15 years now, the crazy funk/punk/ska/metal collective from L.A. showed no signs of slowing down at their Feb. 16 Commodore show. Fishbone thrilled a near-capacity crowd with a two hour-plus set that covered music ...
Last night, I caught Fishbone in Seattle and they were off the hook. Some of the songs I can remember:
Unyielding Conditioning The Suffering Everyday Sunshine If I Were a... Monkey Dick Servitude Swim Sunless Saturday Give It Up When Problems Arise A&A Just Allow Shakey Ground House Work Party Lyin Ass Bitch
There were a few others but that's what comes to mind now. I must say that I was pretty impressed with both Angelo's theremin playing and John Stewart's drumming. The band seems to be getting tighter and tighter every time I see them. Angelo did some poetry too which was pretty cool. The only downer was the crowd was a little sparse and which made it impossible for him to swim.
Looking forward to tomorrow's show as there has been quite a bit of promotion for it on the radio and in the newspapers around town. Hopefully there will be a huge turn out.
Mike.
