Review found on the web

I was a little skeptical about paying $10 to see Fishbone, but my roommates chided me until I went along. The last time I saw a Fishbone show was some hemp festival in 1994. First off, I don't smoke weed, so I'm not sure what I was doing at a hemp festival, and second, Fishbone downright sucked. They were god awful. It was right after the keyboard player left the band, and he was always my favorite member. It was also right before Give a Monkey a Brain... came out, which is definitely the worst Fishbone album ever, its even worse than that horrid christmas record they put out in the 80s. I had seen Fishbone probably five times before that, and they were always amazing. But after that show I vowed to myself never to see Fishbone again.

Luckily, Alex and Dean were unrelenting in their demand that I bike downtown with them to see Fishbone at some bar I vowed I would never set foot inside. I'm a cave-in, I guess, and I was mildly intrigued. Plus Dean had been playing "Party at Ground Zero" all day long, so I was sort of getting excited.

Anyway, Fishbone redeemed themselves. They're definitely old and not as energetic as they used to be, but it was a super fun show, even though I kept getting punched in the back of the head by frat boys.
