Review from the Nuttwork's archive

I caught Fishbone last night:

They played a short set... only six songs...

Everyday Sunshine Just allow Sunless Saturday Aids & (can't spell Armegedon?) The Suffering Party at Ground Zero

The sound was a bit distorted (at least in the 2nd row), but they were their usual "as tight as a mosquito's ass." I was impressed with the ...

Review from the Nuttwork's archive

Jan's review was pretty much accurate. I was the other street teamer and one of the 5-6 soldiers up front while they played, and while it was fun to watch, it was sure as hell not a fishbone show. You probably know the deal....opening band on a 3 band arena tour....

My friend and I handed out all our stickers after the band played, they were gone in under 20 minutes. There wasn't anywhere to hang the posters, altho we did put a few up; then security took my staple gun and told us to stop. I have quite a stack left, so I figure I'll hang them up in record shops around philly and stuff. I never did get to make contact with Richard Hawkins, the tour manager whose name was on the letter I got. Altho we were told to be at the venue at 6, the Fishbone List didn't come up to the will-call booth until about 7:15, so we couldn't get in until then and Fishbone played at shortly after 7:30.

The "meet and greet" which we got passes for consisted of us being escorted backstage and into a small room with a buncha chairs and tables. Norwood and Angelo were hanging out in there, talking to some people around them. Since I've met them before, and I didn't have anything to say, I just hung back. After about 20 minutes, someone came in the room and told us that the Chili Peppers weren't gonna be able to come up tonight, and we could hang if we want or just leave, so we left. It was fairly anticlimactic, but certainly not something to complain about since the whole thing was free, in exchange for about a half hours worth of "work."
