Review from the Nuttwork's archive

For what it's worth, here's my rundown of the Nuttstalk show 2/17 at the Key Club in West Hollywood. I welcome anybody's corrections if I get artist/band names confused.

Doors opened at 7, and music was to start at 7:30. I couldn't get there until about 7:50. Fishbone was on stage doing a short set. I'm guessing that they had started around 7:30 or 7:45 and did 30 min...

Soldiers -

I saw Lauren and that goddamn KungFuMunkyRobot at the show. Fishbone played "Just Allow" and "Shakey Ground" for their last two songs. Angelo has mounted one of his therimin's to a mic stand and painted it with psychedelic colors. Billy from Parliament played bass on the last song. I must have arrived at the same time WT did. I had called the club earlier in the day and asked them if FB was taking the stage at 8. They said yes, so I showed up at 7:50, only to miss most of the set.

I asked Angelo what happened to the Primus track on the new album and he said Hollywood cut it.

I asked Walt when his album was gonna be out and he said he hoped to have it to us by summer.

Angelo said his e-mail box is full and it is kicking messages back to folks, but he will correct that soon.

I spoke with Diane, the person at Hollywood Records in charge of publicity for the new FB album. I told her, gently, that folks on-line are worried that HW is gonna drop the ball on this release and they need to get some info on the album on the HW website. She said the art was taking some time getting put together, but now they have it in hand and are making their move. The flyers HW minions were handing out promoting the new FB album were of poor quality. Diane and I exchanged particulars and she said she will get us artwork for the various webisites that list members run and promo material. I hope she follows through but I have my doubts. Anyway, at least we now know there is somebody who is supposed to be doing promotion for the impending release.

The music from John Black is John Bigham, ex of Fishbone.

Peace Through Superior Monsterpower,

Mr. Marz
