It was Fishbone. They kick ass. Good enough?:->
I didn't care for the opening bands much at all. The first was called Good Life, and they did this kind of poppy rock stuff, and the lead singer wiggled around a lot.
I didn't catch the name of the second one - they at least had real good energy, and did sort of an angry hard, metal, rappish kind of ...
I missed the opening band Good Life, but the second band Dial 7 I thought was awful. It was a great oportunity to head for the lobby and have a beer. Fishbone kicked ass, as usual, but the crowd seemed as if everyone had a long day at work and no one was really up for it. A few of the older songs seemed to get some people moving, but during Lemon Meringue/Unyielding Conditioning/Pray to the Junkie...
I agree! Fishbone was awesome! I don't know much about him, but I really dig the new keyboard player! Does anybody know what he did prior to joing Fishbone? Very good on the trumbone too! They played a lot of their early stuff. UGLY, Selection, etc... But for some reason, their didn't seem to be a lot of energy in the crowd. There were pockets of people skankin and stuff, but overall I've seen much better crowds when I saw them in Albuquerque at the El Rey theater back in the day! I was kind of disappointed with my first San Francisco Fishbone experience. Anybody else at the Warfield show have the same opinion? Who knows, maybe it's just the venue it self, the Warfield might of been a bit too large for the show. I'd rather of seen them somewhere else like Bimbos 365 club or something.
