i had the most awesome time last nite. sorry i didnt see you guys i looked a couple of times at the coat check but...
the show was amazing. long as hell and worth every minute of having to sit through the band i saw. i think called enemy squad they were funky, but i didnt really get into them.
i had a good view and believe me it's not easy being short...
Hey anyone going to comment about the show last night? I thought it was incredable but then again I have nothing to compare it to. The only things I thought were bad was the view of the stage (it's not easy being short!)although it got better then the mosh pit pushed me and my girl friend back like 8 rows (being my second concert I never moshed before but it was fun. The only other low points...
ok - i can't believe no one has stressed how incredibly amazing the show was. i don't even know the words to describe the extent to which i enjoyed it. i drove down from providence for the show and it was worth every second. i thought the set list was impressive, they didn't concentrate too much on one particular album or anything. Freddie's Dead was great, as was Unyielding Conditioning,...
Fishbone may have a more subdued lineup these days, but the show was a good reminder of how unique and powerful and simply friggin' awesome this band has always been. Angelo has not lost a step and remains one of the best frontmen I've ever seen. Norwood was also having a great time and I loved that hat!
The new members really live up to the legacy of the band. Alcoholic was indeed one of the highlights of the night. I was standing front stage far right at the end of the photo pit and the beginning of the VIP tables. Angelo was walking all over the tables and grabbed one of the staff's humongo flashlights and shining it all over. Stupid me did not have extra film for that moment as I shot all my film from the photo pit during the beginning of the show (look for MiningCo article w/photos in the near future).
Also, I interviewed Angelo before the show for an article I'm doing on Dr. Madd Vibe. Angelo was bumming before the show because all his luggage had been left behind in a cab during the rush to the club. :-( He was psyched for the performance, though, because they were recording the show and burning it straight to CD, right there in the club. Angelo claimed he was gonna sell CDs of the show to people on the way out! (don't see how quickly you can burn and dupe that many CDs though). As usual, he was quite friendly with the crowd, hanging at the merch booth and talking to pretty much everybody as he moved through the crowd.
And, indeed, there is no crowd like a Fishbone crowd. I've been seeing this band live ever since 1986 and it's as incredible an experience as ever.
