Review from the Nuttwork's archive

I'm gonna make this real long because I didn't have anyone to share it with.

cincinatti:$17 ticket, all ages, long setlist but no encore, small but full club, tiny stage, angelo didn't have room to do his thing, norwood looked DEAD! walt didn't have much fun either. Angelo (AM) used poem as intro.kid rock opened."6 foot 1 with a 10 FOOT DICK!"

lexington:$8 ticket, 21up show, big club, full crowd, moshing and stage diving, Walt and Norwood were the complete opposite, they looked like happy kids, monkey dick, freddy's dead, but no junkee, behavior, pressure, or fascism.no kid rock.

The drive was 4 hours. I opened the front door about 5pm and heard someone going off on a drumset. I had to walk through all these rooms and around corners to get to the stage. the place was empty ecept for angelo, you should have heard him FLAMING on the double bass! I couldn't believe. he was having some fun with it.after a while he tried to finish, but he kept getting up and going"aw...fuck it ha,ha" then playing some more. I wore all red and painted the shit on my face again, which made it easier for him to remember me. I reminded him about the tape and showed him the minidisc thing. He hadn't ever seen such a thing. He was certain that I was at the Obelin show, but I wasn't.Hell, he almost convinced me that I was. I fucked with him a little and asked if he knew which city we were in. I tried to convince him that we were in Clevland, but he wasn't buying it. He laghed a lot at the logos on my forhead, like they were telling him jokes. Anyway, they sound checked for like 45 min. which let me get the perfect level and I got all of the sound check which was a long P-funk like jam, black box, masquerade, alcoholic and the usual, toot-toot, hey-hey dead air type thing. after that, AM was doin' some paperwork of some kind and I didn't see anyone else around, so I cruised around the city and got back later than I meant to, because I didn't know I had crossed time zones during the trip. A local band was opening and AM was was doing autographs at the shirt table. none of you made it out to the show , so I found that girl manyana from the radio station and made out with her. no, she didn't show up, but apparantly asking around for her is a GOOD pickup line! People asked me why I was dressed up and I told them that I was at the super bowl. I might not do that around here, but I was never gonna see these people again.I went to the merchandise table which was set up on a pool table. When I was halfway through the line, AM stopped signing and looked over at me because I guess one of the fish on my head told him a joke or something. Then he saw the "fishbone" written across my neck. everyone was looking around and he just kept laughing, it was enough to make me go completely mental, I must say.

So after 10 LONG seconds of him laughing, I wanted him to stop so I chucked some stuff at him from across the table, I threw a pen, and my heavy half lamenated setlist from the last show. He thought for a while and then wrote some shit on the list. We kind forgot about the line that I didn't wait through. surprisingly he asked for my phone number, I knew he was nice, but I didn't expect him to actually take interest! We started talking about how I was newly 21 and the youngest one around, he seemed to be thinking back. I took his adress so I could send him the tape. we were writing all this stuff down and after a while we both kinda looked up and went "OPPS!" there was 12 people in line.

anyway I set up in the back/middle of the room and made a very good tape. I barely got it going in time becasue they ran on stage in a fast fashion and started playing monkey dick. To bad they didn't stop the music in the other room, but you could really only hear it between songs. I am in awe of how much they improvise. you can easily hear huge differences in how things go just by going to 2 shows. I think I had as much fun paying full attention this time as I did dancing at the last one.angelo played theremin with his foot and displayed hifi equilibrium. I was gonna try to explain something he did but it's just not gonna come out right, you know what I mean? At the end of the set angelo read his poem, "Ja Ja on the telephone", some of the guys came back up while norwood rolled and smoked a J right on stage. AM joined him while spacey, deon, and jon jamed out for a few. I was just hoping they didn't get busted before they finished playing.in the encore, the goddam club turned the light on durring "party at groung zero".apparanty fuckin' Kentucky has to shut down At 1:00 so we would have to miss out on a couple that I was dying to have on my tape. I know this is impossible, but I liked deon as much as Fish during the songs, the only thing I miss is the occaisional Fish solo. -rob this review is dedicated to all the thing I forgot to mention.
