I saw Fishbone at the House of Blues in LA back on Dec. 27th I think and there wasn't any new keyboard player or guitarist. Some of the songs sounded strange without a keyboardist though and I think the band could definitely use a new one. One thing that surprised me was that they didn't play any songs that were written by Kendall or Chris (Party at Ground Zero, Ugly, Black Flowers, Sunless Saturday, Everyday Sunshine, etc). I thought maybe they had dropped them from the playlist due to legal or personal reasons but from what people have said about other recent shows they have kept playing them. I was very disappointed not to hear them.
What was worst was that they played a rather abbreviated set because they shared the bill with Norwood's other band Trulio Disgracias (John Bigham sat in with Trulio too) and I thought they were terrible and couldn't believe I was getting cheated on Fishbone for such crap. Trulio also did the encore and Fishbone didn't come back out which really sucked.
I found out about fishbone playing here in Chicago last month about 3 days after the show. I can't believe I missed them when they were so close. If they plan to come to Chicago anytime soon I hope somebody gets the word out since I don't check the papers.
