Saw 'em last night at the State Theatre in downtown Detroit last night. What a goddamned amazing show it was too....
Just like every one else is saying, all but the Fishbone fans left after De La Soul, but I didn't care - I got to go right up to the stage and mosh with Angelo. I too was surprised at all the oldies they did. They started with Swim, then went into Freddie's Dead. Other older songs included Question of Life, VTTLOTFDGF (or whatever), Behavior Control Technician, Prayer to the Junkie Maker, Shakin' to the Beat, and I wish I Had a Date. Overall, it was amazing. For their last song, they did Chim Chim's and Angelo was about to leave when my friend and I yelled out for Fishy Swa Ska. That made Angelo turn right around. He looked at us, smiled, and kept trying to convince Fish to do it, but he wouldn't. By this time the rest of the guys were off stage, but Angelo pulled 'em back for Shakin' and Alcoholic. I also got a Joi tape - quite impressive....
cheers
