ok, it has been 14 years since this show, my first ever Fishbone experience. And shit did these guys blow me away on this night. They were on a co-headlining tour with Primus. Primus opened the show if I remember correctly. The boys were just on fire. The only time they even came close to the energy level was when they played the Grog Shop a few years back, before Fish quit(he would play drums facing the back wall), and Nashville Pussy of all people opened the show.
Anyways, back to this night. Being so long ago, I don't remember songs or anything. I just recall the boy throwing their horns to roadies 2o or more feet away. Angelo was in the crowd several times, and even came right next to me in the first row of seats. There was some guy sleeping, and Angelo went over to him and the guy wouldn't wake up. so Angelo beckoned the crowd to pass water to him. Angelo woke his ass up and kept asking the guy where he was. Angelo answered for him: A FISHBONE show!!
All I can say is they rocked that night, and the bone forever became one of my top 5 bands of all time. The boys even let us back stage, shared some food and drink, and were just down to earth. The way they got the crowd into a frezy was amazing. Angelo in particular was unbelievable. One of the top 2 or 3 shows I have ever been to in my 33 years.
