This was my first show at Hammerjacks. The first of many. I remember it like it was 30 years ago today ????. Angelo swam over to my area of the mosh pit and landed at my feet. He was lying on his back, mic in hand, still singing. Meanwhile I had what felt like the entire crowd at my back pushing me. I was not going to let them push me on top of him. I maintained my balance and Angelo lived to sing another day. One of those days was a couple of months later when I saw him mingling with the crowd between sets at the very first Lollapalooza. Hammerjacks closed, seemingly for good, back in 2006. However, the new ownership group announced just this morning that Hammerjacks will be resurrected as a venue later this year. Welcome back!
